Train Wash Repair – Central Maintenance Facility (Los Angeles, CA)
SSC is providing engineering and construction management services for Metrolink’s Train Wash Repair project at the Central Maintenance Facility. Our team assessed system deficiencies, developed the project scope and cost estimate, prepared bid and specification packages, and is overseeing installation of new piping, water reclamation upgrades, pH-neutralization systems, and updated instrumentation through commissioning and closeout.

City of Alameda – Grand Street Improvements
SSC provided construction management and engineering support services for the Grand Street improvements project in the City of Alameda. The project included roadway rehabilitation, pedestrian and bicycle facility upgrades, and utility coordination. As part of our role, SSC oversaw design development, permitting, and construction, ensuring minimal disruption to the local community. Services included schedule management, cost estimating, constructability reviews, coordination with city staff and stakeholders, and administration of construction contracts.

City of South Lake Tahoe – Local Assistance Project Management Support
SSC served as the Local Assistance Project Manager (LAPM) for the City of South Lake Tahoe, supporting federally funded transportation projects. We guided city staff through Caltrans Local Assistance procedures, managed project documentation, environmental approvals, right-of-way certification, and contract procurement. SSC coordinated with Caltrans District staff and funding agencies to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Advised city staff on Caltrans Local Assistance requirements and federal funding compliance, among others.

San Mateo Replacement Parking Track
SSC provided construction inspection and engineering support services for the San Mateo Replacement Parking Track project. The project covered construction and integration of a new #10 mainline turnout and 1100’ of new track off the Peninsula Subdivision’s Main Track Two as well as #8 dual switch point derail, 80’ of paneled access track for hi-rail and rail bound equipment access, 2100’ of engineered maintenance road, and two CIDH pile supported CMU sound walls totaling 1000’+, 20’ of split culvert installation, solar controlled irrigation system, and site securement via security/ privacy fencing installation.

Hayward Maintenance Project Phase 2
The Hayward Maintenance Project Phase 2 (HMC2) East Storage Yard (ESY) Project serves as the fourth project under the Core Capacity Program. The Project will expand storage and dispatching capacity at the Hayward Maintenance Complex through the development of a new storage yard located east of the existing HMC.

Transbay Corridor Core Capacity Program Communication Based Train Control
The BART Train Control Modernization Program (TCMP) is a $1.14 billion investment to replace the existing train control system with a new communication-based train control (CBTC) system and associated train control power cables and interlock cables, allowing BART to achieve the shorter headways needed to operate 30 regularly scheduled trains per hour on the trunk line between Daly City and the Oakland Wye.

State of California DOT - Caltrans District 10 – Multiple Projects
SSC provided Resident Engineers and Construction Inspectors responsible for overseeing multiple concurrent contracts valued at several million dollars, spanning the areas of roadway barrier replacement, pavement works, culvert replacement, and signage updates.

Valley Rail Project Management Support - San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission
SSC is providing program and project management support in key areas for the Valley Rail Program. The Valley Rail Program is a $1 Billion + regional rail program in California's Central Valley that aims to enhance mobility and connectivity by expanding passenger rail service between major cities in the region.

State of California DOT - Caltrans District 4 – Multiple Projects
SSC is providing CM services for multiple projects for the State of California DOT -Caltrans in District 4, Pleasanton, CA. SSC is the Office Engineer responsible for delivering projects including pavement, bridge, culvert, and retaining wall repairs along the 580 corridor.

State of California DOT - Caltrans District 1 – Multiple Projects
SSC’s primary responsibilities include the following tasks like contract administration, quality control, change management, safety management, communication, document control, reporting, and closeout.

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) – Multiple Projects
SSC is currently serving as the Lead Capital Construction provider for BART’s Capital Construction and Maintenance program, delivering essential planning, scheduling, and execution services for key track outages and system-wide shutdowns. SSC’s role is critical in ensuring that both capital improvement projects and routine maintenance are executed efficiently and with minimal disruption to BART’s operations.
