
SSC is providing program and project management support in key areas for the Valley Rail Program. The Valley Rail Program is a $1 Billion + regional rail program in California's Central Valley that aims to enhance mobility and connectivity by expanding passenger rail service between major cities in the region. The program is a joint effort of the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission (SJRRC) and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and includes several projects, such as:

ACEforward: This project involves the expansion of the Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) rail service from Stockton to Merced, providing a new direct rail connection between the San Joaquin Valley and the Bay Area.

San Joaquin Corridor: This project aims to enhance and expand the existing San Joaquin rail service between Bakersfield and Sacramento, providing more frequent and reliable service.

Valley Rail Sacramento Extension: This project involves extending the San Joaquin rail service from its current terminus in Sacramento to the new Sacramento Valley Station, providing a more convenient transfer point for passengers.

Program Management Support: SSC is providing overall program support as needed for the Valley Rail Program with a focus on coordination, integration, and alignment of individual projects within the program to ensure that they collectively deliver the desired benefits and outcomes. SSC directs, supervises, plans, coordinates, reviews and ensures compliance of engineering and design activities for all agency programs and projects.

Constructibility Reviews & Cost Estimating: SSC is evaluating project designs for potential issues related to construction, including cost, schedule, materials, and equipment. By identifying potential problems early, the review can help reduce the risk of delays, cost overruns, and rework during construction.
